Introduction

The screenplay is based on the popular novel by Tsumugu Hashimoto that has sold over 1.4 million copies to date. Receiving full support from the city of Ise - the location of the film as well as the hometown of the author - the film captures all the beauty and emotion of the key scenes of the novel.
Yuichi is played by Sousuke Ikematsu, the rising star featured in “Sunadokei” (08). Rika is played by Shioli Kutsuna, the fresh, young actress who first appeared in a Pocky commercial and went on to a leading role in the movie “BECK” (Autumn '10).
Natsume is played by Yo Oizumi whose unique aura has added depth to films such as “After School”. The film is directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa, highly acclaimed for his direction of “Dear My Love”. It is a story that will leave you in tears and wanting to be with the one you love.

Story

While in the hospital for Hepatitis A, 17 - year old high school student Yuichi meets the beautiful Rika, who is also hospitalized for a chronic heart condition. Having spent most of her life in and out of hospitals, Rika isn't accustomed to interacting with people her age, and at first, Yuichi indulges her by catering to her every whim. Somewhere along the way, an attraction begins to blossom. Rika is also drawn to Yuichi, who gives her a glimpse of the world outside the confines of hospital life.
Meanwhile, Dr. Natsume, who works at the same hospital, struggles with the loss of his beloved wife, who he was unable to save...
